Young people should be protected from the dangers of digital addiction, said Greece's prime minister on Thursday.

Speaking at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, Kyriakos Mitsotakis stressed the importance of regulations in the production and distribution of information.

“Our priorities should be right. We should protect our young people from digital addiction, and this should certainly be done, if you like, through intergenerational solidarity. And this is a priority for my own government,” he said.

“And I really stand in solidarity with France regarding the ban on access to social networks for young people, teenagers,” Mitsotakis added.

Also addressing the issue of the AI revolution, he maintained that it will improve most public services, including health care and overall quality of life.

However, he warned: “All countries should have access to computing power, as well as data. The story of artificial intelligence should not be a story of exclusion but a story of inclusion.“
