KYIV, Ukraine
Ukraine has withdrawn its forces from the key eastern city of Severodonetsk, a senior army official said on Friday.
The Russian army has wrecked critical infrastructure in Severodonetsk, Sergey Gayday, head of the Luhansk Military Administration, said on Telegram.
He said approximately 90% of the city has been damaged in incessant Russian bombardment.
“The Ukrainian Armed Forces will have to leave Severodonetsk. Our soldiers have received their orders,” he added.
The official said Russian forces are now advancing toward the nearby city of Lisichansk.
