NATO secretary-general arrives in Kyiv on unannounced visit
Zelenskyy says Rutte's visit started with laying flowers at People's Memorial of National Remembrance
MOSCOW
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte arrived on an unannounced visit in Kyiv on Tuesday.
Zelenskyy uploaded on social media a video of him and Rutte laying flowers at the People's Memorial of national Remembrance in the Ukrainian capital.
"Maydan Square. People's memorial of national memory. Memorial to the memory of our heroes, soldiers, our people who defended Ukraine from the enemy, fought and gave the most valuable thing in this war. Together with Mark Rutte, the memory of the fallen Ukrainian defenders and defenders was honored here today," he said.
Ukrainian media said Rutte then visited parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, to address lawmakers.
