Greece’s major trade union quits X over platform’s ‘policy change’ under Musk
Spread of fake news, far-right conspiracy theories, racist views ‘alarmingly increased’ after Elon Musk took over social media platform, says General Confederation of Greek Workers

ATHENS
One of Greece’s major trade unions announced quitting X over the social media platform’s alleged policy change after it was purchased by Elon Musk, who is known for his support for far-right movements.
“The platform’s policy change following the change in ownership has alarmingly increased the spread of fake news, far-right conspiracy theories, and racist views, and has contributed to the toxicity of user conversations,” the General Confederation of Greek Workers (GSEE) said in a statement on Wednesday.
GSEE said that it “can no longer have a presence in such a toxic online space and will consider alternative ways of communicating its views to society.”
