Gloucester Cathedral in the UK will host an immersive light and sound installation this month to honor those who lost their lives in world wars, the BBC reported on Monday.

Running from Friday, Oct. 17 to Saturday, Oct. 25, the event will commemorate the 80th anniversaries of Victory in Europe (VE) Day and Victory over Japan (VJ) Day.

The installation is produced by Luxmuralis, an artistic collective known for its large-scale immersive visual and audio experiences.

Inside the cathedral, visitors will be surrounded by projected poppies and a specially composed soundtrack designed to evoke the feeling of walking through the fields of Flanders.

The Very Reverend Andrew Zihni, Dean of Gloucester, said the cathedral was a fitting venue for such a tribute, as themes of peace and hope are central to its mission.

The installation will also feature a segment titled Falling Leaves, with each leaf symbolizing one of the millions who perished during the First and Second World Wars.

The installation will also include an artistic interpretation of the Battle of the Somme.

This event marks Luxmuralis' return to Gloucester Cathedral, following the success of their Light Eternal exhibition in 2023.
