Georgia's governing party was set to win a parliamentary election on Sunday, electoral authorities said.
With more than 70 percent of votes counted, the Central Election Commission said the Georgian Dream party had secured 49.95 percent of the vote while the opposition United National Movement (UNM) received 26.63 percent.
Prime Minister Georgy Kvirikashvili had declared victory on Saturday night and following the commission’s announcement the UNM claimed the election had been rigged.
