The food inflation index in Greece remained high in March, the country's statistical body said Monday.

As the general consumer index is continuing its downward trend, 4.6% as of March, the food price index was 14.3% during the same period, according to a monthly report by ELSTAT.

Similarly, the report said that annual inflation in the clothing and footwear index was 14.4%, followed by an 11% increase in durable goods such as white goods and furniture.

While house prices decreased, rents, house repairs, and maintenance as well as utility bills continued their upward trend, it added.
