EU should not make rushed decisions after Munich conference: Bulgarian vice president
It is necessary to discuss within European institutions the future actions regarding both the war in Ukraine and possible talks, says Iliana Iotova

ATHENS
The EU should not make rushed decisions after what happened at the Munich Security Conference, said Bulgarian Vice President Iliana Iotova, according to the local media.
Commenting on the decision by French President Emmanuel Macron to host a meeting of European leaders about the latest development related to Ukraine, she said: “A surprising meeting; I personally think it should take place with all leaders within the (EU) and the UK,” state-run BTA news agency reported on Sunday.
“The initial information was that only some of the leaders were invited — a format for which we have no explanation yet why and what the argument was,” she added.
Furthermore, Iotova highlighted: “Europe at this moment should not give in to emotions, should not make rushed decisions after all that happened and was heard at the Munich Security Conference. It is necessary to discuss within the European institutions the future actions of the EU regarding both the war in Ukraine and the possible negotiations, and only then — after the agreement of all EU member states — to take the decisions.”
The three-day Munich Security Conference concluded on Sunday following high-level discussions on global security issues, particularly European security, the ongoing Moscow-Kyiv war, and transatlantic relations.
Intense discussions about the Ukraine war and potential peace talks with Russia, as well as US Vice President JD Vance's controversial remarks about Europe, dominated the three-day conference, which began on Friday.
The 61st annual flagship conference was attended by over 50 heads of state and government, as well as 150 ministers from around the world.
