Baltic Sea records surge in GPS jamming
Incidents rise from about once a week in 2023 to average of 3 times a day this year

ISTANBUL
A sharp rise in GPS jamming has been observed over the Baltic Sea, Radio Sweden reported Thursday, citing the country's Transport Agency.
According to Sweden’s Transport Agency, reports of interference with aircraft satellite navigation in the Baltic region have sharply increased.
Incidents have risen from about once a week in 2023 to an average of three times a day this year.
The agency reports that the affected zone is expanding across the Baltic and onto nearby land.
Alleged evidence that the jamming originates from Russian territory has prompted Sweden and its neighbors to alert the UN's aviation body.
