Cocaine hidden in puree banana vat, say authorities
ROTTERDAM, The Netherlands
Customs officials at the Port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands seized 3 tons of cocaine hidden in a banana puree vat, Dutch authorities announced on Friday.
The container was on its way from Ecuador to a company in Basel, Switzerland, the Rotterdam Public Prosecutor's Office said in a statement.
The discovery is one of the largest made at the Port, the second-largest seaport in Europe.
Authorities often capture vast among of cocaine at the Port of Rotterdam.
In March, officials confiscated 4 tons of the drug hidden in a container that also arrived from Ecuador.
