Turkey's total oil imports decreased by 3.9 percent, crude oil imports fell by 23.7 percent but an increase was seen in diesel by 33.2 percent in December 2017 year-on-year, according to the country's energy watchdog's report on Wednesday.
Diesel imports increased by 33.2 percent to 1.3 million tonnes and crude oil imports decreased to 1.9 million tonnes in December 2017, Energy Marketing Regulatory Authority (EMRA) said.
Turkey's oil product imports overall decreased to 3.9 million tonnes in December 2017, compared to December 2016.
Aviation fuel imports increased by 213.2 percent to 7 thousand tonnes in December 2017 compared to the same month last year.
Production of total oil refinery products decreased by 26 percent to 1.9 million tonnes and diesel production decreased by 16.3 percent to 802 thousand tonnes.
In December, total fuel sales rose by 1.3 percent to 2.3 million tonnes compared to the same month last year.
