Turkey's energy regulating authority is to set new rules for fuel products, said Mustafa Yilmaz, head of Turkey's regulating authority, EMRA, on Tuesday in Ankara.
A new pricing model is being prepared for fuel products such as gasoline and diesel fuels sold throughout gas stations in Turkey.
'Once it is posted on the official gazette, the new pricing model will be in progress. With the new model, prices for fuel products will be more transparent,' said Yilmaz.
In 2009 and 2014, price ceilings were set in place in order to avoid higher distributor prices. It was claimed by the distributors that the price model was not transparent and companies claimed this model made investment decisions more difficult.
Diesel and gasoline prices are relatively high in Turkey with more than half of the prices consisting of various taxes.
