Türkiye's total oil imports increased by 7.27% to 4.11 million tons in March, according to recent data released by the country's energy watchdog on Wednesday.
However, crude oil imports, the category with the highest oil import volume, fell by 5.22% in March to 2.52 million tons, the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) said in its monthly report.
Türkiye imported the majority of its oil and oil product needs from Russia in March, totaling 1.84 million tons. Iraq and Kazakhstan followed with 843,763 tons and 576,816 tons, respectively.
Oil refinery product exports decreased by 3.51% to 1.13 million tons, while output decreased by 7.69% to 2.87 million tons.
Total domestic oil product sales increased by 13.2% year over year in March to 2.53 million tons.
