Turkish Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (BOTAS) and Woodside Energy Group signed a sale and purchase agreement for the long-term supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG), marking a new milestone in bilateral energy cooperation, Woodside announced on Monday.
Under the agreement, Woodside will supply BOTAS with approximately 5.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas equivalent, or 0.5 million tonnes per annum of LNG, for up to nine years beginning in 2030.
The deal converts the non-binding Heads of Agreement signed in September into a binding commitment, reinforcing the companies' plans to deepen collaboration across the LNG value chain.
LNG will be sourced primarily from the under-construction Louisiana LNG project in the US, along with Woodside's broader portfolio, the company said.
The agreement highlights the strengthening Türkiye-US relationship and is expected to support energy security and economic growth in both countries while paving the way for an expanded strategic partnership between Woodside and BOTAS.
The agreement is Woodside's first long-term LNG supply arrangement with the Turkish market, Woodside Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer Mark Abbotsford said.
