Petrofac's Engineering & Production Services (EPS) East division, along with its Kazakh consortium partner Garant Project LLP, secured a project management services contract from Kazakhstan's Karachaganak Petroleum Operating b.v. (KPO), the British oilfield services provider said Friday.
The three-year project management services contract is in support of KPO's gas debottlenecking project at the company’s Karachaganak processing complex in Kazakhstan, according to a statement from Petrofac.
Debottlenecking is a process which identifies areas and/or equipment that limit the flow of oil and gas, and optimizes those bottlenecks to boost a plant's total capacity.
'In addition to providing the core integrated project management system to prepare for and ensure a successful project execution, the scope of work includes the provision of specialist personnel to perform key roles within an integrated project management team with KPO,' the statement added.
Petrofac is a leading international service provider to the oil and gas production and processing industry, working in 29 countries.
Based in Aksay, West Kazakhstan, KPO is engaged in extracting, processing, and exporting oil and gas, while Garant Project is an engineering company specialized in providing design services in industrial and civil construction.
