The second cargo from the new U.S. Corpus Christi LNG plant arrived in the U.K.'s Dragon LNG terminal late on Saturday, shipping data reveals.
Official shipping data showed that the Marvel Falcon LNG vessel, which sails under the national flag of Singapore, arrived in the U.K. on Jan. 5 at 21.52 GMT.
This cargo is the second after the first from the plant arrived in Greece at the end of December.
Europe is mostly dependent on Russian natural gas exports via pipelines as Moscow supplies, according to Eurostat, nearly 39 percent of EU's gas needs. LNG provides European countries more freedom to supply from different sources in the Union's search for alternatives.
The Marvel Falcon vessel, built in 2018, has a capacity of 114,084 tons.
The Corpus Christi site is located approximately 15 nautical miles from the coast on the La Quinta Channel on the northeast of Corpus Christi Bay in San Patricio County in Texas, on over 1,000 acres owned or controlled by Cheniere.
The Corpus Christi plant's liquefaction project began operations in 2018.
