Türkiye's Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (BOTAS) and Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) agreed to enhance cooperation on trade in natural gas and LNG, natural gas infrastructure and underground storage, as well as technical information and knowledge sharing, the Turkish energy company confirmed on Thursday.
Talks took place between high-level officials of both companies in Egypt as part of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to the country.
According to the statement, the consultations aimed at supporting both country-wide and regional energy security through concrete steps to be taken by both parties in the coming period.
Last July, Türkiye and Egypt raised diplomatic ties by appointing ambassadors, which marked a significant advancement from the level of charge d'affaires maintained since 2013.
With its recent investments and international partnerships, BOTAS has expanded its supply potential, solidifying its position as a key energy player in Türkiye and internationally.
