Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 7 % on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 935,292 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 39,095 megawatt-hours at 13.00 local time on Monday, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage was at its lowest at 30,201 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 880,838 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 6.9% decrease from Sunday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 36.8% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 19.5% while lignite plants comprised 14%.
On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 13,979 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 2,663 megawatt-hours.
