Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 0.86% on Wednesday compared to the previous day to reach 873,118 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 18.00 local time, reaching 41,984 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,966 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 883,757 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 0.85% decrease compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 35.25% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 23.28% share while hydroelectricity plants comprised 14.60%.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,786 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 147 megawatt-hours.
