Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 0.8% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 920,700 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 43,592 megawatt-hours at 09.00 local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 31,426 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 928,116 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 1.02% decrease from Wednesday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 43.02% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 15.63% while lignite plants comprised 13.85%.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 14,644 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 7,545 megawatt-hours.
