Turkey became a rose exporter for the very first time in 2013.
Turkey that had to import roses for the Valentine's Day last year due to the bad weather conditions, was able to grow roses this year enough for both domestic use and exports.
Mesut Tutar, head of the chamber of florists in Turkey's western province Izmir, told AA correspondent on Wednesday that Turkey exported roses to Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Azerbaijan and Russia.
Tutar said Turkey which was a carnation exporter added roses to its portfolio this year.
