NEW YORK
The three major indexes in the U.S. stock market opened at record high levels on Tuesday with an increase in telecommunication firms' shares.
The Dow added 42 points to begin trading at 22,600 points. The S&P 500 rose 2 points to reach 2,531 points.
The Nasdaq increased 11 points to start the day at 6,528 points.
All three indexes closed at their all-time highest levels on Monday.
At the first bell, telecommunication companies Sprint and Verizon saw their shares rise 1.7 percent and 0.3 percent, respectively.
