ANKARA
Nasdaq opened up more than 1% Thursday on positive jobs data that indicated weekly initial jobless claims falling to its lowest level in four months.
The tech-heavy index rose 1.5%, or 197 points to 13,226 as investors turned their attention to technology stocks with Airbnb, AMC, and Etsy gaining more than 4% each. Facebook added 3%.
The Dow Jones was up 96 points to 32,393 at 9.45 a.m. EDT (1445GMT), while the S&P 500 added 25 to 3,924.
US jobless claims fell to itslowest level since November, according to the Labor Department, indicating the labor market in the world's largest economy could be recovering from the coronavirus pandemic.
