Türkiye's Borsa Istanbul up at weekly open


Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,458.73 points on Monday, up 0.61%, or 14.96 points, from the last week's close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 1.6% to 2,443.77 points at Friday's close, with a daily trading volume of 28.3 billion Turkish liras ($1.7 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose slightly to 16.7706 as of 10.22 a.m. local time (0722GMT) from 16.7610 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate increased to 17.4984 from 17.3900, while a British pound traded for 20.3295 Turkish liras, up from 20.1440 at the previous close.

Brent crude oil sold for around $111.83 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,811.35.
