ISTANBUL 

Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,550.85 points on Wednesday, up by 0.54%, or 13.73 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down 0.45% to 2,537.12 points at Tuesday's close, with a daily trading volume of 31.41 billion Turkish liras ($1.76 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 17.8805 as of 10.23 a.m. local time (0723GMT) from 17.8620 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate increased to 18.1430 from 18.1060, while a British pound traded for 21.5326 Turkish liras, up from 21.5310 at the previous close.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $99.81 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,717.4.
