Türkiye's Borsa Istanbul up at midweek's open
BIST 100 index gains around 17.2 points at opening session versus previous close
ISTANBUL
Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,664.83 points on Wednesday, up 0.65%, or 17.24 points, from the previous close.
On Tuesday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down 0.33% to 2,647.59 points, with a daily trading volume of 44.2 billion liras ($2.46 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose slightly to 17.9510 as of 10.01 a.m. local time (0701GMT) versus 17.9450 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate decreased to 18.2461 from 18.3010, while a British pound traded for 21.8311 Turkish liras, down from 21.9670 at the previous close.
Brent crude oil was selling for around $100.26 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,784.95.
