Türkiye's Borsa Istanbul exceeds 5,000-point mark at weekly close

ISTANBUL

Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Friday at 5,005.30 points, up 3.08% from previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 149.18 points from Thursday's close.

The index's lowest value during the day was 4,871.28, while its daily high was 5,015.23.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 4.01 trillion Turkish liras ($215.6 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 95.5 billion Turkish liras ($5.12 billion).

During the day, 93 stocks on the index rose and seven fell compared to the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,807.50, while Brent crude oil was at around $76.77 per barrel as of 7.54 p.m. local time (1454GMT).
