Türkiye's Borsa Istanbul down at open
BIST 100 index falls 2.58 points from previous close
ANKARA
Türkiye's benchmark stock index BIST 100 opened the week at 3,279.03 points on Monday, down 0.08% or 2.58 points from the previous close.
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 18.4487 as of 07.53 a.m. local time (0453GMT), versus 18.4150 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was up to 17.7993 from 17.9000, while a British pound traded for 19.8136 Turkish liras, down from 20.1680.
Brent crude oil was selling for around $85.13 per barrel, down 1.18%, while the price of an ounce of gold stood at $1,646.22.
The price of Brent oil decreased almost 5% on Friday as the rising value of the US dollar repelled buyers from the dollar-indexed oil, and interest rate hikes by major economies triggered demand uncertainty.
