Turkiye's BIST 100 index up at Friday open

ISTANBUL

Turkiye’s benchmark stock index opened at 2,006.79 points on Friday, up 9.1 points, or 0.46%, from the previous close.

The BIST 100 index climbed by 46.52 points, or 2.38%, to end Thursday at 1,997.69 points, with a daily trading volume of 28.06 billion liras ($2.06 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 13.6430 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), from 13.6250.

The euro/lira exchange rate was up slightly to 15.2146 from 15.2050, while a British pound traded for 18.2912 liras, down from 18.3120.

Brent crude oil sold for around $88.65 per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
