ISTANBUL 

Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened the week higher on Monday, gaining 0.37% or 41.56 points to reach 11,383.46.

On Friday, the BIST 100 index edged up 0.06% to close at 11,341.90 points, with a daily transaction volume of 115.1 billion Turkish liras ($2.7 billion).

As of 9.50 a.m. local time (0650GMT), the US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 42.8170, the euro/lira at 50.1985, and the British pound/lira at 57.3945.

The price of an ounce of gold was $4,413.95, while Brent crude oil was trading at $60.85 per barrel.
