Turkish stock exchange up at Wednesday's open

ISTANBUL

Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Wednesday at 12,839.89 points, increasing by 0.27% or 34.08 points from the previous close.

On Tuesday, the BIST 100 rose 0.45% to close at 12,805.81 points, with a daily transaction volume of 191 billion Turkish liras ($4.4 billion).

As of 10.40 am local time (0740GMT), exchange rates stood at 43.2960 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 50.7420 to the euro, and 58.2040 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $4,840.80, while Brent crude oil was trading at $63.45 per barrel.
