Turkish stock exchange up at Tuesday's open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 12,760.83 points, increasing 0.1% or 12.95 points from the previous close.

On Monday, the BIST 100 rose 0.63% to close at 12,747.88 points, hitting a record high, with a daily transaction volume of 197.1 billion liras ($4.55 billion).

As of 10.10 am local time (0710GMT), exchange rates stood at 43.2845 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 50.5350 to the euro, and 58.1830 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $4,714, while Brent crude oil was trading at $63.40 per barrel.
