Turkish stock exchange up at midweek opening
BIST 100 index opens Wednesday with 16.4 points gain

ANKARA
Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Wednesday at 9,467.96 points, up 0.17%, or 16.38 points, from the previous close.
On Tuesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index dipped 1.29% to close at 9,451.58 points, with a daily transaction volume of 80.2 billion Turkish liras ($2.19 billion).
The USD/TRY exchange rate was 36.4630 as of 9.51 a.m. (0651GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 38.2939, and the GBP/TRY traded at 46.1169.
The price of an ounce of gold was $2,921.30, while the price of Brent crude oil was roughly $72.72 per barrel.
