Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Friday at 9,496.81 points, up 0.13% or 12.55 points from the previous close.

On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 lost 0.41%, closing at 9,484.26 points with a daily trading volume of 88.9 billion Turkish liras ($2.34 billion).

As of 10.23 am local time (0723GMT), the US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate stood at 38.0113, the EUR/TRY rate was 42.0640, and the GBP/TRY rate was 49.6098.

The price of one ounce of gold was $3,115.84, while the barrel price of Brent oil was around $68.78
