Turkish stock exchange opens lower on Friday

ISTANBUL

Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Friday at 10,934.43 points, down 0.10% or 11.05 points from the previous close.

On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 rose 0.28%, closing at 10,945.49 points with a daily trading volume of 113 billion liras ($2.66 billion).

As of 9.50 am local time (0650GMT), the US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate stood at 42.5085, the EUR/TRY rate was 49.2805, and the GBP/TRY rate was 56.2375.

The price of one ounce of gold was $4,188.50, while a barrel of Brent oil was sold for $63.10.
