Turkish stock exchange opens higher on Friday
BIST 100 index gains 42.22 points at opening session
ISTANBUL
Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Friday at 12,130.19 points, up 0.35% or 42.22 points from the previous close.
On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 rose 0.49%, closing at a new record high of 12,087.97 points with a daily trading volume of 149 billion liras ($3.45 billion).
As of 9.50 am local time (0650GMT), the US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate stood at 43.1335, the EUR/TRY rate was 50.2820, and the GBP/TRY rate was 57.9820.
The price of one ounce of gold was $4,475.60, while the barrel price of Brent oil was around $62.35.
