Turkish stock exchange opens higher midweek
BIST 100 index rises about 12.9 points
ISTANBUL
Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened higher Wednesday.
The BIST 100 index rose 12.95 points, or 0.1%, to 13,188.70 at the opening bell.
On Tuesday, the index surged 3.73% to close at 13,175.74 points, with a daily transaction volume of 178 billion Turkish liras ($4.04 billion).
As of 0950 GMT+3, exchange rates stood at 44.0740 liras to the U.S. dollar, 51.3020 to the euro and 59.2940 to the British pound.
Gold was trading at $5,197.50 per ounce, while Brent crude oil stood at $86.35 per barrel.
