Turkish stock exchange opens Friday on low note
Benchmark BIST 100 index loses 43.04 points at opening bell
ISTANBUL
Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Friday at 10,936.69 points, down 0.39%, or 43.04 points, from the previous close.
On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 gained 0.7% to close at 10,979.73 points, with a daily transaction volume of 125.5 billion liras ($2.96 billion).
As of 9.50 am local time (0650GMT), exchange rates stood at 42.4445 liras to the US dollar, 49.0165 to the euro, and 55.6010 to the British pound.
The price of an ounce of gold was $4,036.40, while Brent crude oil was trading at $62.25 per barrel.
