ANKARA

Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Friday at 7,902.36 points, a slight rise of 0.05%, or 3.77 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed on Thursday at 7,898.59 points, falling 1.11%, with a daily trading volume of 103 billion liras ($3.56 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 28.8745 as of 10.01 a.m. local time (0701GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 31.5104, and a British pound traded for 36.2011 liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $81.41 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,994.45.
