Turkish stock exchange begins week up

ISTANBUL

Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Monday at 10,672.99 points, up 0.29%, or 30.39 points, from the previous close.

On Friday, the BIST 100 fell by 0.43% to 10,642.60 points, with a daily transaction volume of 83.2 billion Turkish liras ($2.05 billion).

As of 10.25 am local time (0725GMT) on Monday, exchange rates stood at 40.5540 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 47.5660 to the euro, and 54.5100 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,342, while Brent crude oil was trading at $68 per barrel.
