Turkish stock exchange begins Tuesday up

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 10,173.73 points, up 0.65% or 66.05 points from the previous close.

On Monday, the BIST 100 was down 1.64% to 10,107.68 points, with a daily transaction volume of 85.2 billion Turkish liras ($2.13 billion).


As of 10.25 a.m. local time (0725GMT), exchange rates stood at 40.0150 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 47.0920 to the euro, and 54.6425 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,333.90, while Brent crude oil was trading at $69.05 per barrel.
