Turkish poultry production down in August
Chicken meat output drops while hen egg production rises annually in Turkey, according to official data

ANKARA
Turkey's chicken meat production dropped 16.1 percent year-on-year in August, Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) said on Friday..
According to TurkStat, chicken egg production in the country increased 3 percent in August, compared to the same month last year.
"Hen egg production increased by 5.2 percent in August compared with the previous month, and increased by 3 percent compared with the same month of the previous year," it said.
On a monthly basis chicken meat production slipped of 17.6 percent in August.
TurkStat added that turkey meat production rose 1.4 percent year-on-year, however on monthly basis it saw a decrease of 25.8 percent.
