ANKARA
Turkey's economy added 676 thousand jobs in June 2012 as unemployment dropped by 1.2 points to 8 percent from the same month a year earlier, the country's statistics authority has said.
The figure represents the lowest jobless rate since 2001, TurkStat said in a statement on Monday, adding that the number of the jobless dropped by 311 thousand y-o-y.
Urban unemployment dropped 1.6 points to 10 percent, and rural unemployment dropped 0.6 point to 4.3 percent in the given period, TurkStat said.
