ANKARA
The Turkish lira fell to a record low against the dollar in early morning trading on Thursday.
The lira briefly dropped to 3.0610, but then climbed back to levels around 3.045 after 8 a.m. local time (0500GMT).
Most emerging market currencies are under pressure in anticipation of a possible interest rate increase by the Federal Reserve at its next monetary policy meeting on Sept. 16.
