Turkey's national flag-carrier Turkish Airlines (THY) has carried around 70,000 passengers to one of the most populous countries, Nepal, in the last nine months, said company officials on Wednesday.
Turkish Airlines is the only airline company that launched direct flights to Nepal in September 2013, with 80 percent occupancy rate in their flights.
The officials also said the company launches flights with the aim of being an airline company that flies to places where not all airline companies operate.
The company targets to reach full occupany rate in its Nepal flights, and plans to add more destinations similar to Katmandu following detailed global research.
Turkish Airlines today has 45 domestic flight routes and more than 200 flight legs to international destinations. The company launched flights to 249 cities and 252 airports in 106 countries across the world.
Having one of the youngest fleets in Europe, the company has a total of 249 airplanes including nine cargo planes.
