ANKARA (AA) - September 6, 2012 - Turkish Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan assessed Turkey's rise in the "Global Competitiveness" report of World Economic Forum on Thursday and he said that Turkey's success on rising in the global competitiveness list can only be achieved by a small portion of countries.
According to the World Economic Forum's "Global Competitiveness" report in 2011, Turkey was placed 59th on the list among 142 countries.
In 2012, Turkey rose 16 steps to 43rd place between 144 countries.
Caglayan said, "This is an incredible rise and it is hard to be achieved by many countries."
Caglayan also stated that Turkey comes second after Kazakhistan in the scope of a quick rising and said, "Turkey has reached its best so far. I do not see this as a result, I see it as a start."
