ANKARA
Turkey's Industrial Turnover Index increased 17.8 percent in May 2012 when compared to May 2011.
TurkStat, Turkey's statistical authority, said on Friday that Industrial Turnover Index also rose 8 percent in May 2012 when compared to April 2012.
In the sub sectors level of industry, Mining & Quarrying Index increased 18 percent, and Manufacturing Index increased 17.8 percent in May 2012 when compared to May 2011.
According to Main Industrial Groupings Classification, the highest increase in May 2012 over May 2011 was seen in Durable Consumer Goods.
When the change rates of Industrial Turnover Index in May 2012 compared to May of 2011 was examined, the highest increase was seen in Manufacture of Computer, Electronic and Optical Products with 126.2 percent, and followed by Repair and Installation of Machinery and Equipment Manufacturing with 98.8 percent.
Industrial New Orders Index increased 19.1 percent in May 2012 when compared to May 2011, and rose 10 percent when compared to April 2012.
According to Main Industrial Groupings Classification, the highest increase in May 2012 over May 2011 was seen in Undurable Consumer Goods.
The highest increase in annual change rate of Industrial New Orders Index in May 2012 over May 2011 was seen in Manufacture of Other Transport Equipment. When the change rates of Industrial New Orders Index in May 2012 compared to May 2011 was examine, the highest increase was seen in Manufacture of Other Transport Equipment with 129.1 percent, and followed by Manufacture of Computer, Electronic and Optical Products with 126.2 percent.
