The overall support for the euro remained at the all-time high level over the last 16 years for the second year running in eurozone, an official survey revealed on Tuesday.

"A majority of 74 percent of respondents across the Euro area said that they thought the Euro was good for the EU," Eurobarometer, a public opinion survey for the bloc, said.

Some 15 percent of respondents said that the euro was "bad" for their country, down one percentage point.

Support for the euro posted the highest level in Ireland with 85 percent, followed by Luxembourg with 80 percent and Austria with 76 percent.

"A majority of citizens continue to support economic reforms and using rounding to do away with one- and two-cent coins," the survey added.
