Germany's import prices up month-on-month in October
Energy prices pushed import prices up in October on monthly basis but caused a drop on annual basis
ISTANBUL
Import prices in Germany rose by 0.6% on a monthly basis in October, federal statistical authority Destatis revealed on Friday.
Energy prices rose significantly from September to October; heating oil went up by 4.9%, and petrol increased by 4.5%.
The import prices for nondurable consumer goods and intermediate goods were 0.5% higher than in September.
Import prices fell 0.8% year-on-year, owing primarily to lower energy prices.
Export prices of the country rose both on a yearly and monthly basis, 0.6% and 0.3%, respectively.
