ISTANBUL 

Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,548.64 points on Thursday, rising by 0.33%, or 8.28 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down 4.07% to close at 2,540.36 points on Wednesday, with a daily trade volume of 58.9 billion Turkish liras ($3.15 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 17.1982 as of 10.27 a.m. local time (0727GMT), from 17.1120 at the midweek's close.

The euro/lira exchange rate increased to 18.4273 from 18.3800, while a British pound traded for 21.5425 Turkish liras, up from 21.5280 at the previous close.

Brent crude oil was sold for around $123.22 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,853.5.
